Nevada County Senior/Disabled Assistance
Under this project low-income residents who are either 65+ or disabled are eligible for free defensible space clearing services within 100′ of their homes. Applicants were required to supply proof of residency, medical disability, and income. Income qualifications are based on HUD/HCD criteria.

The Defensible Space Program only cut trees that are smaller than 7 inches in diameter. It mainly provides ground clearing around your primary residence.

The Hazardous Tree Program cuts trees larger than 8 inches, but unfortunately, it’s only for Hazardous Trees. If they don’t qualify as “dying, diseased, or infested” then they would not be able to cut them.
